The other night I was watching some show on television and the interviewer asked for someone's brief opinion about someone. The guy stated that whoever (I can't remember who any of these people were) was the "epitome" of something (I can't remember what they were the epitome of, either).
The thing is, he pronounced it as "epi-toam" as in "toam" rhyming with "home."
Wow, talk about having someone else prepare your answer for you in advance..at least learn how to pronounce your canned answer before going on camera!

I went to a DAR essay award presentation for my little one. They asked the winners to read their essays. The 1st place winner stumbled over the essay. Her mom was a Cornell grad.
You know what I always enjoy is watching Jeopardy when they are having their College Tournament and the Ivy League schools go down in flames. I think they are highly overrated, lol..
Do you remember the GE College Bowl? The college I ended up graduating from pwned.
What I was inferring in my post about the Cornell mom was that she had written the essay, not the kid that won the award.
Oh, now I get it! You're probably right, too. Now I still don't know what you mean in your other post about "pwned." I'm scratching my head -- I guess I should have gone to an Ivy League school to be able to figure that one out!
